Funny Commercials: The reason I survive without TiVo

I watch TV. Probably more then I should... But that's not the point.
Not only do I watch TV, but I watch
  Commercials!
The answer is Yes, to all of you TiVo owners, commercials really do still exist.
So whilst getting my fill of TLC, I saw the funniest commercials!

So for the sake of Kicks and Giggles, here are 2 of my Favorites :)

Subway commercial:

Geico commercial:
(This one is Adam's favorite!)

EnJOY :)

Anyone have any favorite commercials?

School's for fools

Summer school was made to be a punishment.
A punishment to those kids that the teachers didn't like (or so I always thought in my naive days).
Now I am in summer school. This feels like a punishment.
In Utah, the weather is beautiful right now.
(I'm sure in a day or two the snow will come back. I have trust issues with Utah weather, I am still skeptical that its going to have an angry moment and change my beautiful blue skies to gray frigid snow)
But in the past few days, the sun has been shining on my soul. It has been shining enough to melt my frozen blood vessels! I honestly haven't said "I'm cold" in 2 weeks!
This weather makes the birds sing "oh how lovely is the morning" to me.
I see flowers blooming, practically right before my eyes.
I see couples being twitter-pated and getting engaged because the heart-warming weather is confusing them for the spirit.
(not always true, but you'd be surprised what happens on some picnic blankets around here)
Worst/best of all is that everyday I see people buying shaved ice treats at the Hokulia (Bahama bucks of Utah) on my way to campus and I long to join them....
But oh wait. I am being punished by my responsibility of adulthood that is driving me to graduate from college. This same adulthood responsibility somehow convinced me to sign up for classes till June.
I might as well be in jail.

Only 31 more days...

Wishin' and Hopin'

When I was younger my siblings and I would sing a rather annoying chant during long car rides. It goes as so:
"Ding Dong! Hi there! Wanna buy a cookiieeeeeee!?!?"

Although I still don't understand the point of this chant, I now realize this was my first experience of door-to-door sales.

Now Adam is doing Vivint security system sales in Arkansas.

We have skype dates and we talk on the phone way too much, but ya. Still miss him like crazy.

Whilst watching TV at way too late of an hour, this adorable nike commercial came on.
I now have a huge desire to buy pink nike shoes and I'm possibly obsessed with seeing adam ASAP...
Those in the same city as your significant other, be grateful.
Those peeps missing someone,
Enjoy :)

Changes

"People are always saying that change is a good thing. But all they're really saying is that something you didn't want to happen at all... has happened."
~You've Got Mail

This is a good quote of exactly how I feel recently. Lots of big changes have happened in the past few weeks and they aren't what I especially want to happen. But, I am happy because these changes are all for the best :)

First of all: new calling.
I have been called as the Relief Society President of my ward. Ya, this is a scary calling. Two of my past roomies have been amazing relief society presidents and so I'm scared to try and fill their shoes. I know that this must've been inspired by the Lord though so I am just going to do my best and leave the rest up to him!

Second Change: New roomies.
They seem super awesome, But I am having withdrawals from "old roomies".
Yeah, seriously missing Rachel and Becca.

Third Change: My Goo is marrying her Boo!
Rachel Allen, My Goo, is marrying Andy the Nard-Dog. They make each other giggle and so he bought her an expensive ring and she became a girl and squealed yes.
They are to be sealed in the temple on May 5th :)
Super happy for her, but super sad we can't have pillow talk every night..

Fourth Change: My Boo is in Arkansas...
Adam is doing summer sales till August. Yes, 4 months...
He has been gone for 4 days and I am already missing him like crazy.
The good news, he is going to rock at doing sales, and make bank!
The bad news, I am awfully lonely without him.

Fifth Change: Meghan Ryan is going back to her roots..
Meghan my BFF since birth Ryan, has been called to serve in the Scotland Ireland Mission. She reports on June 27.
Yeah, I am going to miss her so much.. can't even really talk about this one yet.

Sixth Change: Bye Bye Becca
Becca Allen, my other ex-roomie, is going on a mission to Indianapolis, Indiana On August 1!
So excited for her, but i'm really gonna miss her..

Seventh Change: Hello Haiti!
I am signed up to go on a service trip to Haiti In July till August. I am super excited but very nervous about this one!

I'm kinda overwhelmed that all of these changes are happening at  once, but with change comes growth, right?
Bring it on.

Bring it On 2012!!

Goals! Why? Because I want to be better.
And now is a better time then ever to be better so the better question is "Why not?!" So I have goals.
I have tried to set goals in the past but I have learned that I am not successful unless I plan. I also have learned that I do better with goals when I have a reason for changing. So the following is my list of goals, the reasons I want to succeed and an explanation of how I am going to complete these goals!

Spiritual: Because I want to!
- Write in my Journal at least once a week and/or Blog. I want to remember my life. I love reading old journal entries and even though they are completely ridiculous, it shows that I have changed and it reminds me not to make the same mistakes as I did in the past.  I will make this one of my sunday activities probably after church-during my lunch time and before my nap.
- Give one Book Of Mormon away. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ Of Later Day Saints and I have never given a Book of Mormon away. I know the Church is true. And i really hope i get the opportunity to share the gospel with someone.

School: Because I should..
- GET MORE SLEEP!! When I don't have enough sleep I am not a good girlfriend or room mate. My school work slacks and I fall asleep during my scripture study. As a result, my grades and attitude reflect my lack of sleep. I hate it and I need to do better. So the plan: This means not so many late nights on Pinterest and Facebook. This also means saying good bye to Adam at 11:30pm instead of midnight so I can be in bed by 12. Weekends will be my exception.
- GRADUATE!!! The plan right now is to graduate by December 2012. I plan on working my butt off for the next year so I can graduate with a 3.5gpa. I understand that a 3.5 doesn't seem so difficult but apparently I suck at school so 3.5 is my achievable goal

For Kicks and Giggles:  Because I Can!
- Cook a new recipe once a week. I need to learn to be more domestic. My momma got me a new cook book and I now have my parents old Crock Pot so the plan is the utilize these and become someone who can fatten my hubby with real food and not only truffles.
- Learn to do a backbend walk over. okay. So this has been a goal of mine since I took tumbling in 2004. A backbend walk over is where you bend backwards into a back bend and then kick your legs over and you end up standing. Pretty much a slow motion back handspring. I have always wanted to be able to do this but I am horribly inflexible. So the plan is to stretch and strengthen my core through crunches and sit ups.
- Do Baptisms for the dead in as many temples as I can in one day.  I live in Utah. Within a 1 hour drive from my apartment I can see at least 6 temples. 6!!! No where else in the world can you do that!! I want to take advantage of this phenomenon. The plan: set a date, set appointments, wake up early and do it! I am so excited for this one. This has been a goal of mine since my friends took me to the Timp Temple in 2010. It's about time I fulfill this one!!

So these are my goals. I want my dear readers (so pretty much my momma) to check up on me with these! I am documenting on the internet so I can't throw the paper away. And so I can't just forget.
I'm excited for this new year. I'm excited for Change and the adventures that it will bring!!

The past few months

I am horrible at this whole blog thing... But one of my new years resolutions is to document my life better so hopefully I'll do better this next semester.
(yes, my life is timelined by semesters. it's the curse of being a college student)

So time to catch up because a lot of BIG things have happened!

1. In October I started dating my man: Adam Turner.

He is from Kirkland, Washington and we met at BYU.
We kinda like each other and he makes me happy :)

2. I cut my HAIRS!!!

I haven't mailed them in yet, but the plan is to donate the 10 inch pigtails to locks of love. I'm not going to lie, I totally cried. I have never had my hair this short. But the thought of some little bald girl getting a wig made of my hair made it a little easier.
And, it's about time for a change.
Hair grows back and for now I am enjoying the shortness :)

3. FInals are over and I am officially a Senior in College!!
CRAZY right!?!? I can graduate in December of 2012.
My new major is Public Health: Environmental track.
I know the follow up question, "so what do you want to do with that exactly?"
Well to be honest, I am still learning about it.
But 3 things I do know:
- first of all this major has all the pre-reqs leading to an accelerated nursing program
(1 year nursing program that qualifies me to take the NCLEX)
-second, many people have been successful in this major through city and state public health programs or specific programs such as tobacco awareness.
- third, I am loving all of my public health classes!

Finally, here is a little treat that made me smile :)
Ever heard of Kid history? I think it is the cutest. Enjoy :)

BeaChY BoYs

Whilst my not having a job and filling out applications...

I turned on the TV, Full House was the show of choice.
Todays episode was the one with the Beach Boys!
You know, the one where DJ wins tickets on the radio to the Beach Boys concert and then has to choose one person to take with her to the concert, but of course they all end up going. oh i LOVE predictable, and cheesy happy endings :)
Anyway.
I made a decision: I LOVE the Beach Boys!!!
Maybe it's cause I am stuck in Utah where the sun only shows its shining face on the rarest of occasions, but the music and lyrics of the Beach Boys fill me with dreams of California: Salty air, the crashing waves, Disneyland... In other words,
 Pure Joy!
The bad news: I only have 5 Beach Boys songs on my Itunes...
SO youtube videos will have to suffice.

This is one of my favorite songs!
